not much to say about today...went to class...briefly swung by Justin's...got home and watched The Simpsons/Seinfeld...the exciting part came when i decided to try out Nero's "karaoke filter" and make my own karaoke cd...of course, it's far from perfect and there were other choices i had that didn't come out right...but i'll share with ya'll the track list of what i do have...i guess i'll need to learn how to sing all these too...

Public Image Ltd. "Careering"
Iggy Pop "Mass Production"
Bauhaus "Double Dare"
Roxy Music "Editions of You"
Pavement "Two States"
Eno "The Paw-Paw Negro Blowtorch"
Sonic Youth "The World Looks Red"

Nero has a karaoke filter, where its intention is to lower the vocals...obviously, this doesn't always work...i don't know exactly how it goes about determining what to filter out...it's seemed to work better w/ higher vocals...a few times it's worked great, sometimes it's passable...sometimes not at all...on a few albums it lowered just about everything OTHER than the vocals...as it's karaoke, you don't really need super-quality anyway...you don't get words or anything...i wouldn't doubt there's a way to do this w/out too much difficulty...but if it's something you already own and know, it's not too necessary...though i don't really know all the stuff i have too well...i do know at least 2 songs perfectly, and that's about all i'll be able to do in one week at Neil's anyway...so i'm good to go for now!

yes...it's a fucking amazing song...sometimes i forget that about certain songs, or i'll take it for granted then i'll hear it and i'll just be like "oh my god! why haven't i listend to this in so long!" my first choice was "Marilyn Moore" and then "(She's in a) Bad Moon" but they didn't karaoke-ize very well...Sonic Youth is one of those bands i've been listening to so much for so long that it amazes me at some of the lyrics i have memorized...especially songs like "The World Looks Red"...or "Skip Tracer"...but i guess that's the cool part of being an obsessive freak...uh, i guess...
