Working on a research paper for the first time since... well, let's just say the last time I did this, web-based research was optional and not highly encouraged!

The title is Masculinity's effect on Popular American Culture. Which, is a subject I felt I had a pretty good handle on but no.... oh, no no no. I was missing great swaths of it. Like, my undertanding was near zero!

So, now my head is on fire and I am also realizing exactly why my efforts 10 years ago to help bring female participation in music was met with such resistence.. it is just because I was working with a VERY limited understanding of the very thing that I was working against. I am now getting a clue where I once had none and now I am sort of nowhere.

Well, nowhere is a good place to start rebuilding something.

Well, i finally recorded some of these instruments that i have been buying up. I set up the mic and did a few runs with the taishogoto, wot, and recorder (the same one i was using live a few years back) as well as some throat singing and this interesting random brass patch on the yamaha.

The mic was run through the kaoss pad and then i (nearly) randomly tracked eveything in audacity.

The result is mixed but overall encouraging!

I like a lot of it, just needs some tweaking.
