braininthecupboardW starts school on Wednesday and we have an open house thing tonight so he can familiarize himself with his new rooms/teachers/etc. The summer has shown a ton of growth in him mentally and emotionally, which has been really nice. I hope it translates well to the school year.
K quit her job at TN in favor of getting with an Imm practice based in Nevada. The hours will be better, and we can say that we are no longer on that shitbag's payroll. I have been working on her office. So far, I have just demolished an add-in closet. Future plans are painting, putting in a fridge and ice maker, replacing the zebra striped drapes, and improving ventilation.
I start back in a few weeks. I have had to move off of the Music BA because the hour and 20 drive is too much for me to get there every day in order to attend concerts and convocations, which are required by the major. It requires about 3 per week every week. Plus, the graduate office is staffed by some of the rudest people I have ever met. I am now working the General Studies BA and will likely be graduated by May! After that, I am getting my MA in Library Sciences at UW. I hate hate hate that I am not getting the music BA, but unless I can move closer it is just not an option. I am staying with music studies on the side though. I have been able to take what I have learned and drill it with the sheet music that I have collected and wierdly, the Duolingo program.
We have been buying up DVDs regularly because of streaming problems and just general ickyness with the companies involved.
Our online presence is shrinking rapidly, and I think that is a good thing. I am now 8 months off of Meta and while it feels a lot cleaner, it is really strange that I only know whats going on with just two other people outside of my house.
Oh, speaking of house, I finished painting the middle room and installed a bunch of semi-built-in shelves. The china cabinet is back up after 14 years and things that used to be on display back on Walker are back! It feels nice. Having a pool has been amazing! I feel so much better physically and mentally.
Ah well, moving on!
