Have a slightly weird anecdote about yesterday. Mary Beth and I were eating dinner on the back deck, enjoying the sunny but cool weather and we heard the sound of a little girl shouting. It's the kind of sound where you can't tell if it's a shout of joy and playfulness or a shout of terror and distress. At first I thought it was the former but then started wondering if it was the latter. It was coming from around the corner of the house so we couldn't see what was going on. Then kind of got up to check and by then could see the girl with a couple adults and some dogs coming into our vision. So it was a problem with the dogs and not playing with them. One of the women was taking the girl up the stairs of the apartments next door and the other was holding a small dog with the two big dogs at her feet. At this point with the girl in safety it seemed like everything was alright and I thought all the dogs were with the woman. Just a little bit later I realized the small dog she was holding was with her but the two big dogs were just two dogs that had gotten loose from somewhere. Then just after that an suv came up and the dogs got in and they drove off. It was kinda weird and confusing from our vantage but I felt a little bad not understanding the situation and thinking it was something else until after it had passed. While I was thinking the dogs were with the woman, she was probably scared of them being around her. From what the people at the apartment complex were saying, it doesn't sound like anything bad happened, maybe the dogs tried to start something with the small dog and the girl was scared or maybe they were trying to jump on her or something in that playful-but-too-big way. Not sure exactly, but no one was hurt. Maybe I could have helped distract the dogs or something but I didn't quite get the picture and no one seemed in danger and it went by pretty fast. Anyway, most just posting for the unusualness of the situation. Not a whole lot else. Had a pretty good evening, good morning.
