In the afternoon, I finished reading Open Door by Luisa Valenzuela and it was good. Then at night Mary Beth and I went to Hattiloo to see a staging of the August Wilson play Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. It was also good. Ma Rainey herself is part of it, but it's more about her backing musicians during a recording session for the titular song (and others). (Oh dang, I walked away without submitting the post and came back to find it still up in my browser!)
