I took a little solo excursion over to Cooper-Young fest yesterday. Was originally not expecting to go but there were a couple things going on so I thought I'd swing by. I wasn't there too long. While walking over from my car, I ran into Paul and Katie who were getting out of theirs as I walked by (funny coincidence especially since I was to see them later in the day for Paul's birthday). Walked with them a bit, but when we got to Cooper I took a quick dip in Goner and picked up a couple cds: v/a: Typical Girls and Dntel: Human Voice. Then I popped over to Two Rivers Bookstore to say hey to Heather. I did that and I also picked up The Quest for Christa T. by Christa Wolf. Then walking over to the other side of the thing, I picked up a popsicle from Mempops' tent. Then I went to Sounds Good to listen to The Pop Ritual's set. Pxls was playing when I got there. They were as bland and lame as they tend to be. The Pop Ritual was pretty good, but then Dave messaged me to tell me that he could see me on the live stream (which led me to feel very awkward!). The next band up was Movie Night and I stuck around to give them a shot, but they weren't very good so I left pretty soon into it (really needed to get back anyway). Mary Beth and I had time to crack into the new season of Bojack Horseman before Paul's thing. We only had time for the first episode though. Then it was off to India Palace and we had dinner and Paul, Katie, Dave, Mary, Jacques, and (I feel bad 'cuz I forget her name and she used to be Sarah's roommate...) were there and we were there. Good chompin' and good hangin' out. After that we went over to Atomic Tiki, though most everyone dropped out. It was just me and Mary Beth and Paul and Katie. Though Josh eventually met up with us there. That was more hanging out. I did order a virgin cocktail but it was definitely not virgin when I got it. Even though everyone was talking about how low-content all the drinks there were, I could definitely feel the alcohol when I took a sip. Oh well. It's also funny 'cuz there was karaoke supposed to be starting up there, but hardly anyone was thee and almost no one sang (I think eventually someone sang one song while we were there). Not much of a story there, but anyway it's a new day now and I am awake and all that.
