Head Space
Oct. 5th, 2016 06:07 pmYesterday Mary Beth pointed me to this meditation/mindfulness app that I started using. Not sure if it's related but today marked the first time since the Massachusetts trip that my right shoulder hasn't quite hurt. For a while every day it felt like it was getting better but then I hit a plateau and actually for a while it seemed to get a little worse. Maybe this is finally the breakthrough? It's still stiff and I can feel it and stuff and I know it'd hurt if I exerted too much, but I feel a significant difference in its resting state. I finally got access to our .NET codebase so I'm looking at the code related to my new team finally. We've had a few meetings on it but I hadn't had access to the code. So I guess I'm a little behind, but I'm in. I also get to actually look at what C# code looks like. I mean, yeah, it's pretty similar to java. And most of the differences I can tell what's going on anyway. I have had to look up a couple things. But the syntax shouldn't be a big deal. The big deal is going to be getting around the whole Visual Studio environment and all the extra-code stuff that's going on with all that. Hopefully I can find my way. Not sure how much of this project I'm actually going to be working on though, as I'm supposed to be continuing the messaging team's work this next PI. But maybe I'll do real good and finish it and work through it and then I'll get to work on the other stuff (data sync stuff). I'd like to be able to work on that some, just to spread myself around and learn new things and get new kinds of experiences and all that. Also, it'll be REALLY nice to have some .NET experience before I go off and lead a team that's working in .NET! Also spent a good bit of the afternoon goofing off and talking with Zach about music and synths. Fun times.
