Last night Mary Beth and I went to the Brooks to see a screening of 10 Parks that Changed America. Actually it was a preview. We saw the parts on Central Park, the neighborhood parks of Chicago, and of course Overton Park. (See, watching a thing about Overton Park in Overton Park.) The producer and narrator of it were there and there was a panel discussion afterwards, much of which concerned the legal battle to save the park back in the day and its aftermath and stuff as well as the contemporary issue of the zoo and turning the greensward into a damn parking lot. It was enjoyable. I'll have to remember to watch it when it comes on tv. Also, the other two in the series (about houses and towns) seem like they'd be interesting too. Well, lots of stressful last-minute crap for work. The release that's been postponed over and over again is finally happening tonight and it's been non-stop last minute "oh we just found this horrible blocker you have to look into" from B2B leading up to and including today. So I'll be happy when that's behind (I really shouldn't complain, it could have been that I was actually on the B2B team in which case it would have been a nonstop nightmare of everything for the past two months at least). Forgot to mention in my last post that I worked on editing the Bands for Bernie "album" on Sunday. Got all the tracks ready and "mastered" and all that shit. I tried to make a bandcamp thing for, uploaded the music, but I don't have the email address for the Memphis Forward paypal account. Tried getting it from Herb but no luck and no one else seems to know it. Which is a pain because I'm stuck without it. Blah.
