Descent

I've been quite upset since looking at election results Tuesday night. Pretty shitty across the board. But I'm gonna move my thoughts forward for now. The updated tray card proof has been approved so I guess it shouldn't be much longer til we have that piece again. There was a little bit of debate over changing the text in ways other than just moving it. I didn't think it looked as right and we had already sent it otherwise and I really think it's fine. I finished adding all of my cds to discogs. So that's a months-long accomplishment there. Mary Beth and I watched The Descent last night. The first half or so, it was one of the scariest things I've ever seen. I was even a bit on edge (maybe that was partly the cold, but it was pretty unnerving). This is right up to the moment they show the monsters (you know, where it's "supposed" to be scary). Well, in that instant the tension and terror just popped like a bubble. The very real horror of their being trapped in this claustrophobic and hopeless situation (where one-by-one things are just getting worse) was swapped out for something unreal and much, much less scary. So it's hard to pinpoin a final verdict. On the one hand, it was really good for a hunk of it. On the other hand, they completely ruined the good foundation they had worked so hard to lay down.
