TARD©

The box of The Family Ghost's new cds came in. Unfortunately there was a small problem with the inner tray card. I was getting texts from Jacques completely freaking out about it yesterday. What happened was, when we had to resize the artwork to fit the dimensions of the new template for the company we ended up going with, that teensy bit of making everything bigger pushed the credits text into the leftmost area that's visible from the front when the jewel case is closed, just a little bit. Really you just barely see the first letter of each work. This might have been passable had those first letters not happened to spell out "TARD." (Put it down as another Spinal Tap moment for us.) In all actuality, it doesn't look quite as bad as this all makes it sound. It's not obvious at first and you have to be looking for something wrong to see the new word. But Jacques was in a panic fit about the whole thing and refused to consider releasing it as it is. We emailed the company and they were pretty nice about it. They'll reprint the modified tray card only asking that we pay shipping. So once again, Mobineko was super nice and helpful. Other than that mistake, the artwork and packaging looks fucking incredible. It's really nice and well done and the fold out is pretty stunning. I'm pretty proud of it, it's a shame we had this setback. When I got home last night I made the changes to the artwork, moving the text over a little bit and reworking it back into the template. So hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer before we really have the finished product. And then I guess we'll have to have a back cover switching party.
