The show went pretty well. Not a whole lot of people there, but it wasn't empty either. It was raining that night (which means we get to load gear in the rain all for the sake of probably playing to fewer people!). But hey, we've played to worse. For some reason I'd never actually been in The Poplar Lounge before. Well, uh, now I have. Anyway, the set:
Safety Corridor
Battle Chant
Death Blow
the one Paul sings on
Cameras
Doctorate
I think we had a strong opening. "Safety Corridor" was pretty ball-stomping. I broke a strng, probably during the fast part before the end/vocals part. I did drop a stick during "Cameras." To be fair, the drums were set up pretty close to the wall and I didn't have much room to move my elbows, I was kind've up against it. I moved the drums forward before we played, but not enough. I move around a lot during that song. Also to be fair, there's a chance I would have dropped 'em anyway. Josh said I recovered. At the end of "Doctorate," I forgot one of my notes and played a real wrong bad note twice before I found it. It's the quiet part too so it stood out. But overall I thought we were pretty solid. The bass player from The Pneumatic Girls seemed really into it. Talked to Josh a little about working on a programming-related project in the upcoming future that might help me pick back up on some skillz. That should be fun.
Couple things I left out of last post: there were also two other fights on Wednesday (plus one off-campus after school that involved students...) So that's why the schedule's off. We're on one long silent lunch for the rest of the year. Like the lockdown we had last year. Also, while typing my last post, I realized I had been typing/saying Eliane Radigue's first name all this time as "Elaine." Feel kinda dumb and "woah..."
