Off-White Christmas
Dec. 26th, 2012 03:13 pmMary Beth and I exchanged the rest of our gifts on Christmas Eve. I got some Super Mario Bros. coasters, a couple t-shirts: "Polymer Records" and "The Overlook Hotel" (the latter obviously from The Shining and the former less obviously from This Is Spinal Tap), and another board game: Dominion. So what did we do Christmas eve? We played Dominion! It was fun, heavily card-based. Oh, also we rented A Christmas Story, I'd never seen it. Oh yeah, and on Christmas Eve I also finished reading The Hunger Angel by Herta Müller. It was really good. After much confusion and schedule changing, we met my family at my grandmother's around noon on Christmas Day yesterday. We stayed up late the night before playing Dominion because we didn't think we had anywhere to be til 5 the next day, but I was woken up with a phone call telling us it was changed to 11:30. Anyway, Christmas was fine. The nephews seem to be doing well and they seemed to like what we got 'em. I mostly got some gift cards and stuff. My grandmother seems to be doing well. It actually started snowing late last night. Oh yeah, and we came home and completing our holidays movie-watching by renting Die Hard. Mary Beth had never seen it. Anyway, the snow actually stuck on some stuff and there's still snow out on some stuff now. We ran a few errands in it.
