FALL BREAK!

Sunday was just like the Sunday before as predicted. I did get a pretty good handle on grades this time, though it did take a good solid chunk of time the last few days. At least I wasn't scrambling too much this morning and last night. Not a whole lot of sleep though. I felt surprisingly not tired today. Energetic. I'm sure was being so close to the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, a lot of kids were absent today. Not a crazy amount, but noticeably so. That always makes things calmer and more pleasant. I did get that observation first thing Monday morning (literally, first period) so at least that was off the table and I no longer had to think about it and could concentrate on finishing them grades. I showed one girl her grades after school and she screamed and hugged me at the same time. Yearbook pictures were taken today. I was gonna, you know, shave and stuff for it, but I'll be dern if being the same day grades were due made me just say screw it. I FINALLY got the word from the state that my teaching license has been updated with my masters degree. So after school (after that wonderful announcement saying there would be no faculty meeting), I went by the university and requested my transcript sent along with my application for a salary update. Hopefully that won't take as long as with the state department. Went to the gym after that. My plan is to super-catch up this break and go three times again. Haven't even been hitting twice lately. I felt it tonight. Now I'm so ready for some hardcore relaxin'.
