Only read one of these, but I owned a copy of the Sterne, and I've heard of Kobo Abe.

Still, ten books is better than none at all!

Tristram Shandy is easily one of my favorite classics now. Calling it a "classic" also really does it an injustice as ahead of its time it is.

Kobo Abe is very good, but the the one I read this year was kinda meh. The Woman in the Dunes is usually the one people talk about, and though it is very good, I think The Box Man is his best.

Also, that last Review of Contemporary Fiction is not actually by Kobo Abe. That was a hasty cut and paste artifact.
