tomorrow yesterday
Jun. 19th, 2010 07:27 pmwoke up early yesterday to attempt to contact the recruitment office, which is a pain in the ass...told them the situation and they said they'd contact me back...of course they didn't, so i called again later in the day for the next appointed sliver of time they accept phone calls...they said it just wasn't in the system and to keep trying and it would eventually work...i dunno, we'll see...
anyway, as i'm working tomorrow (fathers day) we did all the stuff for that yesterday and Mary Beth and i met my parents out in collierville at this place we'd been to once with my dad before (Cafe Piaza, i think it's called, a somewhat hoity-toity pizza place with fancy stuff on the pizzas) but when we got there the wait was 40 minutes and my dad would never wait that long, so i thought of Gus's as i knew they had a location in colliverville and sure enough it was one street over...never been to that location before and i was pleasantly surprised...i expected the atmosphere to suffer from such suburan proximity, but it's in an old house and the food was good and it felt like a Gus's so all was well...afterwards we went back to my parents' house and got to hang out with dogs and a nephew...my sister had recently made a startling archaeological find: the journal i kept during my new zealand/australia trip when i was 15 (on the verge of 16)...i'll probably copy it all into this journal soon...it was interesting to read, though even back then i wrote in much the same manner i do today so at tiimes it's strikingly uninformative...well, back to work today and i went in earlier and uh, i guess that's it for now...
