finished reading The Man without Qualities Volume II by Robert Musil at work today...WHEW! so fuckin' long! but i finally made it through that book! it was pretty good...yes, in parts it gets pretty dry and pretty dern boring, a lot of it's good...the sad thing is i've recently heard that the older translation is much better, even though less complete...though it's a bit of a conundrum as a lot of my favorite parts were in the posthumous unpublished and unfished sections and sketches and etc...oh well...this translation definitely has a strained feeling in its prose...too bad it's way to long to probably ever trying to get a better appreciation with another translation...even if the other translation is still much shorter...even that part's still a long damn book...anyway, i need to start writing a ten page paper tonight...got three nights...better get crackin'...
