i thought we'd be done today, but no...the trial part is finished, but it ended too late to begin deliberations so we go back and start on that tomorrow...my lunch today was again unspectacular...i ate at that Elliot's place whose sign (falsely) advertises the best hamburgers in memphis...and it's only open til like fuckin' 2:30 so might as well take the chance to try it out...pretty damn mediocre...the equivalent of fast food...but coming back from lunch, entering the courthouse a security guard (referencing my Herbie Hancock shirt, which is mildly impressive as there's no text on it, just a monochrome picture of Herbie) "what do you know about Herbie Hancock?" and i cheerfully said something like i know Herbie Hancock, i wouldn't be wearing his shirt if i didn't...and he cheerfully consented...random, even brief, conversations about Herbie Hancock are pretty swell anyway...i stained my synthesizer case yesterday and and in the process of applying polyurethane...exciting stuff...oh, and last night Mary Beth and i hung out with Josh and Dustin at cafe etcetera (i think that's what it was called)...it was pretty good...anyway...

Through a really bizarre chain of people, I heard that Josh was in a wreck. I'm guessing he's okay if you saw him last night?

yeah, actually, Molly was in the wreck...no one was hurt save for the car they were in the process of buying...

I believe it was Brad's cousin's friend who saw that a car with a Family Ghost sticker had been traded in...and that the owner was in a wreck in their new car when they were on their way to have it checked out by a mechanic. That is really lousy.

yup...that's what happened...pretty sucky...the last car the tried to buy was wrecked in the lot (somebody hit it) while they were in the process of buying it...the one before that they were gonna get and then had it checked out by a mechanic and it turned out it was a wreck...a whole string increasing lousiness...

Gee whiz, that's some bad luck. I didn't know about the first car. Maybe they should consider staying away from vehicles for a while.

yeah, it sucks that Josh now has to drive the Aztec to work out in colliverville everyday! (considering price of gas, of course...)

Hey! you were right next door to where katie and I work. I get the salad bar at elliot's with the grilled chicken. Hilario is the guy who started the quik check on madison. now he owns elliot's.

well how'dy neighbor! Qwik Check is so much better, though i only had the cheeseburger (but hamburgers are after all what they advertise on their sign! you think of all the things, that's the one they'd get right...) anyway, in case i'm still there come lunchtime, where should i eat downtown tomorrow?
