well, tonight begins my week-long judicial vacation! and so back to today...on the way to work i had a cop scare...okay, in the place where i got pulled over before on Sam Cooper, well right before that, the big bridge, i always slow down there so as not to get a ticket again, 'cuz that's an infrequent but consistent speed trap...anyway, i think lately i'd been subsconsciously speeding back up at the end of the bridge, right where the trap could be...so this morning i notice i'm doing that and then i see oh there's a cop hidden back a little farther on the side street then only do i notice that my speed had crept up, but it crept up to faster than i normally drive anyway without paying attnetion...so fuck...and i slowly slow down, looking in my rear view and i see the cop pull out so i'm sure i'm getting a fucking ticket...but then he pulls over the car behind me...woah! anticlimactic story, but the anticlimax is a climax of sorts for ME anyway...so i get to work and there's a new fucking shift bid...it seems to be pretty shit...and i used to not worry about shift bids 'cuz i'd always gotten what i wanted, but now that hardly any fucking people are left my seniority position (which is around 20) isn't really all that hot anymore...kind of in the middle...yeah, not many people left (well, will be left when the bid goes in effect, as there's a bunch of people halfway through their 60 days layoff notice...) so i dunno...oh, and the ratio of people that will be bidding versus actual number of shifts that are offered is pretty close to one to one...so it's pretty likely i'm gonna get stuck with a shit schedule for the first time ever...and only 9 shifts have the weekend off...what the fuck is that!? from what i hear the center's even more dead than usual on the weekends...more proof that they just want people to quit...well, anyway...i finished reading Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison today...that's it...
