at the practice space...
Oct. 16th, 2002 12:39 ampractice went very well, even though Brad was working...the other three of us made some fine rock, however...on the way there, i got a battery for the tuner and we tuned and it was pretty rad...first, we ended up writing this new thing that's friggin awesome...sounds a bit like Tristeza...also, it sort of reminds me of the beginning part of "Fiction Friction" by Unwound...Jacques and i play guitar and Paul is on the bass...next we did a lot of reworking on "This Never Happened"...i was playing the Korg on it but Jacques wanted another guitar part so i've switched instruments and wrote a second guitar part...we also added a change...it happens at the beginning and then again at the end...it's frighteningly resemblant to "Lepidoptera" by Bedhead...then we went through "Placeholder" durring which i broke a drum stick...bah...i guess i must buy another...then as we were starting to leave, Paul introduced an old song of his and Jacques and i proceeded add parts to it...i was on guitar and he was on the drums...(Paul sings and plays bass) it's called "Now It's Dark" i think this may be our first non-long song...it sounds a bit like The Sisters of Mercy or Bauhaus...i was doing a bit of a jerky Gang of Four (specifically "At Home He's a Tourist") thing on the guitar...mostly playing one power chord...Jacques' drum part was super cool...he says he was trying to rip off Mission of Burma...i guess all our cred's in place or something...kind've early on, two guys from two spaces down came up...they're in another band that practices there...Crypt Orchid's drummer is girlfriend to one of them or something like that...they came to apologize in advance for being loud...it was a moment of soft rock for the three of us...right when we were starting on "This Never Happened," i think...they said we were really good and it was refreshing to hear a non rap metal band practicing there...they're kind've straight ahead rock...not really good, but i'd say the best i've heard practicing there...(aside from us, of course...) their name is The Alphabetical Order...and a message for the other members of the band, i won't be able to practice tomorrow (wednesday) night...i have this project due the next day and i haven't started on it...and ummm...it's a big fucking project and i know it's already too late and i'm screwed...but ummm...yea...bollocks, or something...oooh yea...and i've done a bit more work on the site...it's like, more than half-missing or so...but a bit of content's there...enough that i'll post a link: The Family Ghost...hoo-ah!
