Yesterday at work was a chore. We were releasing those fixes for the production issue and it was all fine and went smoothly. Then we decided to release another application that hadn't had issues yet but is also important and it would be bad if it did have the same issue. So I applied the update there but when we went to test it, there was all this weird behavior (where no records were getting processed) that I couldn't explain. Maybe it was the data, I didn't think it was directly related to the update, but couldn't be sure if there wasn't a bug somewhere, somehow that affected this application and not the others (they're all really pretty much the same thing, just for different objects). Tried to run it against dev locally and couldn't reproduce it, but did see another sort of issue. Anyway, there's a failsafe and the records that failed would process through that anyway, so after a bunch of spinning around in circles, we finally came back full and just released it in the end as it was. But it was just kind of a headache and took more than the full day and I even skipped lunch, blugh. Let's see if I can get that time back today. I did get some nice mail of cds in a couple different packages: Andrew Raffo Dewar: Ekphrasis Suite, Nicholas Maloney: Description of Sound, Duenn: No Exist Tone, and Milieu: Morceau Patterns. Later at night I worked on music. Got one more part down on the fourth track and that took a long time. I've been going back and forth between thinking that's all it'll need and adding one more. I was originally planning on adding two last night but didn't get around to it. I'm worried this track is getting cluttered. I started to feel better after more mixing and sitting with it a bit. Then I was sure it didn't need the next track. Then later I thought of a way to do it that was even more spare and might add a contrast to other busyness? I'll at least try it. So probably almost done and then we'll see. Later last night I finished reading The Towers of Trebizond by Rose Macaulay and it was good. Okay, back to things.
