I called my parents to talk to Anthony yesterday and wish him happy birthday, but he couldn't come to the first the first time...because he'd just gotten his knee stuck in the banister. Apparently my dad had to apply warm soapy water to get him unstuck. Finally got through after a little while. Mary Beth and I were cracking up about it though. We did our clicklist grocery run last night. I came back to a few cds in the mail: Hypnagogue: Adrift, Hypnagogue, Distant Light Receding, Coil: Time Machines, and Jan Beran: Chamber Music 2003-2006. The first two were from an order that took almost five months to get to me, the guy just forgot I guess and then for a while I'd forgotten until I saw the albums on my bandcamp and was like, oh wait. The latter two were some more birthday-related acquisitions. I also got a couple books in the mail (from the birthday-related Strand gift-card): The Female Man by Joanna Russ and The Tiger Flu by Larissa Lai. I had trouble getting to sleep last night, hopefully today will be alright (and tonight will go better!).
I forgot to mention yesterday, but I did something small that impressed myself. So recently discogs made this terrible (really, INFURIATING) change on their site. It used to be if you were logged in, going to the site automatically redirected you to your dashboard (a very useful page from which you can do most things you'd want to do on the site) and it'd also take you there when you clicked the big discogs logo on the top of the page. They just changed it so that it instead takes you to the useless splash page that you'd see if you went to discogs not logged in. Kinda almost like a spammy junk page that you can't really do anything from and just has a bunch of useless generic stuff. (You can still get to the dashboard of course, but now it takes multiple clicks in a smaller menu so it's much more tedious to get to the one page you always want to get back to.) Well, I was annoyed by it and I found in the forum where lots and lots of other people were annoyed by it as well. Anyway, I was able to cobble together a little bit of javascript in Greasemonkey that redirects from the "main" page so it's all functioning like before. Yay!
