Legendary

I got the badge in Duolingo that I was sure I'd just never get so why even bother trying! Legendary! Finish in first place in the Diamond league! So, the Diamond league is the final league though there aren't a whole ton and since I've been doing this for almost a year now I've been in the Diamond league for forever. Anyway, but when you're in the Diamond league there's always some butthole who just has this crazy high score so what's even the point? Well, this week I was that butthole. So, I started off the week pretty strong in just a regular manner and in first place without really trying so it seemed like the competition might not be too stiff. So I thought I might go for it. Now the trick is that once you've done enough stories, their points increase as they go on and when you get to where they're worth the most, they're worth a lot. And they're quick and easy to do. So right now I can do a story in about half the time it takes to do a regular lesson and I get more than twice as many points. So I just started focusing on stories, most days doing only one unit and then stories. And I did a ton of stories. Such that I knew I had to make it as if I kept up this rate, I wouldn't even have that many more stories left (and at the point where I started I did have a whole lot left). Anyway, so I'd do enough stories to make sure I was always first with a healthy lead. And I ended the week in first place and I got the badge and now I never have to think about that again! Woohoo! Anyway, that's dorky but as it'd been something I'd long ignored as impossible it's kinda cool that I did it. What else? Mary Beth and I went for a little walk yesterday evening as the sun was starting to set. There's almost no trace of my fall on my face now, so that's good!
