ateolf: (zoo and you)
It's another one! How did I ring in the new year's eve? Spent some time with the cats upstairs for the last time (neighbors just came back home a few minutes ago). After a bit Mary Beth and I spent a good bit of time watching tv and a movie. The was some Simpsons in the mix (we even got to an episode in this late nineteenth season with a quote that's in my regular Simpsons quote rotation, "Ooh, Laughter House!"). We watched If Beale Street Could Talk. It's a good movie, but the title's always funny to me as a Memphian (it takes place in New York and all and "Beale Street" is just a metaphor, but still based on James Baldwin originally getting Beale Street and Bourbon Street mixed up). We also finally finished up Gavin and Stacey. I was drinking some champagne with Mary Beth (well, prosecco, an Italian ringer for champagne that's just a little drier). I guess having a little sparkling white wine on a rare special occasion is the closest Robert gets to "drinking." We stayed up and rang in the new year and now it's that other year. I will miss the holiday season when it's over and these days off and short work days.
