Just What I Needed

Spent a lot of time yesterday working on finishing up the song I was working on before. It's a cover of "Just What I Needed." I sent Mary Beth the "demo" version on our anniversary. I knew it wasn't finished, but also I knew I wouldn't be able to sing fully when she was around so I had a very where I sang holding back. I rerecorded the vocals and a few more parts. I also edited some parts that were off. Man, one part I had moved the synth thinking the synth was off and then, oh I fixed it. Then it turned out the synth was right and it was the drums that were off so I had to move the synth back and move the drums and "bass" (different synth). It was a pain figuring it out too 'cuz things just weren't adding up. I eventually finished up and got a mix. Now I'm wondering if I should mix it again 'cuz some of the parts are a little low in places. They're not the main parts so maybe it's fine they're low. Still trying to decide if that'd be worth the effort 'cuz I hate mixing. Maybe I'll revisit it. Maybe it's fine. Today everyone got some "Beale St. bucks" to get lunch at places on Beale St. and John, Zach, and I went to Dyer's so that was all nice and everything. Stayed a little late for some headaches the database was giving us while trying to finish testing for this api. Anyway, now I'm home!
