Early Night
Sep. 11th, 2018 06:01 pmLast night Mary Beth and I went out to Sounds Good to see Late Night Cardigan play. It was a good show. Mary Beth hadn't seen them live before, but after the first time I saw 'em told her she'd like 'em and when she got to hear their recordings online, she got way into 'em. So she was super happy to see them live. Next was a touring band from Austin called Regulus. Their first song made 'em seem like they'd be pretty good. Nice'n'pretty instrumental kinda shoegazery with lots of delay. The bass was a little on the busy side but it wasn't too bad, pretty good. But then they proceeded into some shit that sounded like a hybrid of 311 and emo. There were occasional hints of the good in the first song, but overall it was pretty bad (and like some disparate bad things clashing against each other). The vocals were bad too. Last was Wine Witch. I guess they're kinda riding on the stoner metal revival thing. Though their tempo was a little on the fast side and they really just ended up sounding like heavy classic rock. It wasn't the worst thing, but with their little bits of stage moves and how "tight" they were, kinda put me off. Anyway, got home at a not too bad hour. There was work today and not much to say there. So yeah.
