Got a surprise last-minute request from my dad to do lunch today. We went to One and Only barbecue (the OTHER location I hadn't been to closer to my work...NOT the one and only!). I also had something I'd never had before: the junkyard dog. I thought it'd be a hotdog with extra stuff on top all normal-like see, but...it was that, but I guess not normal-like. It ended up being what seemed to me as Memphis's "answer" to the garbage plate. It had so much stuff piled on it was really an open-faced sandwich (as it was all on a regular-sized small hotdog bun). It had all the regular barbecue stuff: pulled pork, slaw, beans, (anything else I might be forgetting); plus the hotdog stuff: the hotdog, the bun, and those Chicago-style peppers (on the side); and then the whole thing is topped with fries! (that part reminded me of Primanti Bros.). It was pretty damn good. Okay, I've spent a great deal of time describing a hotdog, what else? Had a brief conversation at work about Kraftwerk. This one guy, in the team we were assisting setting up our webservice stuff. Anyway he's getting a slow response or something hitting a key on his keyboard and he says "pressing down a special key it plays a little melody." So I started humming do-dodo-do-dododododo-dodo. Then a brief conversation about if he saw them in Nashville and if he's seeing them here in Memphis in a few months. One of the other developers on the team is into Kraftwerk too. Okay, nerdtastic!
