Bombast

Went to the Bernie meeting yesterday. Brought a little portable studio as I was going to record a podcast. We weren't ready for the podcast yet, that'll be happening this Thursday. That's okay. I have everything ready on hand. I did a little work composing for the theme music. People wanted to use a clip from his first commercial, but it was too long but thought we'd go in a similar direction with talking over similar music. So now I need to come up with music that's similar and it's all "epic" sounding (normally not really my thing at all), but I set to work last night on actual writing (which is also not my typical approach). Wrote a bunch of notes down and when I get some stuff I'll start putting it together with different sounds. A fun experiment anyway. Oh and here's the commercial if you're curious to see what I'm "up against." One guy had been wanting something kinda "npr"-ish so I may put together something simple along those lines which might could be used for interstitial music or something. Also last night Mary Beth and I watched House of Pleasures (a gift from Karen and Paul) and it was really really fucking good.
