Went on a little quest yesterday for mounts for the two microphones that I no longer have effective mounts for. I got one for the ribbon mic at Consignment and I got one for my banged up condensor at fuckin' Guitar Center. The one from Guitar Center is crappier and a lot more expensive. Unfortunately it was a last resort. And I need to be able to use the mics today as I'm recording a podcast for the Memphis for Bernie meeting. After that run of errands (with purse shopping for Mary Beth in between) we met Molly, Courtney, Dustin, Josh, Daphne, Maria, and Lila at Bayou Grill (though the "bistro" side that's just the same as it was when it was Le Chardonnay, which is weird it's all now "one" place but the two (connected) sides have separate kitchens and separate menus, if you're on one side you can't get anything from the other side). Anyway, had some good food from the menu we had (which is probably the better of the two anyway) and we exchanged presents. From Dustin I got three of those magnetic Intellijel multiples (funny 'cuz it's very similar to what I got for Josh, and Josh in turn got those similar things from both of us, so he now has a buttload of portable multiples). From Josh I got twelve fancy braided 1/8" cables. So now I've got a load of eurorack patching power! Back at home Mary Beth and I played a few games. The new-to-us game we broke out was Battle Sheep. Of course it would be a little goofy, but it also ended up having a simple but engaging strategy (elegant, even) so it was good game to play and one that'll do well to have in our stores. One night last week I somehow injured my left "ring" toe in my sleep. Not sure if I bent it or what, but I was hobbling about in the morning. This pain persisted for at least a week. Though it was going away finally. It was pretty much nonexistent yesterday, but last night brought it back as strong as ever. I hope this isn't some fucking thing.
