Another More Stuff

Okay so more games! We played Arboretum Wednesday night. Another card game. It's very fancy. It was a lot of fun too, it has some pretty good strategy elements, I think. I also liked the detail in the instructions on breaking a tie, after an initial tie breaker, if there's still a tie the players each plant a tree and whosever grows the tallest in five years wins. Yesterday I met my dad for lunch. Right when I was about to text him to suggest the Commissary, I received a text from him suggesting Chile's. Ah well. Service took a long time so I ended up eating way too much chips. I don't know why I can't help that. The only politics he wanted to talk about was Trump. He doesn't like him, but the reasons he wanted to talk about were pretty superficial ones ("unelectable" because he picks fights with the press). It also looked like it was about to get into gay territory (but saved by the check). He's probably gonna be the scoutmaster for Jason's cub scout troop. They have to find a new place to have meetings 'cuz the church that sponsored them told them they didn't "have enough room" anymore shortly after the announcement to allow homosexual scoutmasters. I probably know what he'd say so glad we didn't have to go there. Anyway, last night Mary Beth and I played Coup. It was the one I had played before after all. Ugh, bluffing type games stress me out so much. Also, we now have dueling tumblr accounts. Let the nasty times begin! Oh, and a coworker gave me a book yesterday: Secret beneath the Sand by David Alan Crouch. That's him. He just published it and gave me a copy I assume 'cuz I'd talked about Philip K. Dick with him pretty recently. He said he used to write more hard sci-fi stuff a long time ago and self-described this one as "fluff" he wrote to see what it was like and have fun. It should be fun to read.
