Feeling the Bern
Aug. 24th, 2015 05:52 pmMary Beth and I finally started on the first season of True Detective this weekend. We're over halfway through. I'm liking it so far (though I don't think she is). Anyway, Trudy took a shit on the kitchen rug on Saturday so I hosed out the litter boxes on Sunday (hopefully a more through than usual cleaning will keep her from wanting to go out of the box again). In the afternoon I went to the Memphis for Bernie meeting. This was the getting organized and getting roles for people meeting. I'm now on the tech team. So me and one other dude are going to be working on the local website. Pretty exciting shit. Also, the guy who's organizing everything is an ap government teacher at Soulsville and it turns out he sat in in Matt's classroom when he first start (Matt being one of the top three ap history teachers in the district). That's pretty cool. Since the meeting was down on Front St., I couldn't help but pck up some Gus's to take back home! What else? I apparently keep forgetting to mention the last book I finished. Was thinking I had, but it turns out I definitely hadn't. So I think it was a couple Wednesdays ago on the 12th that I finished The Simulacra by Philip K. Dick. It was okay. Definitely not his strongest. The writing felt pretty amateurish through a lot of it. I don't konw if I'd get that if I revisited some of his books that I've loved more. Maybe. But the story didn't hold up as well either. Well, that's that for that.
