Yesterday Mary Beth and I walked over to the Hatiloo Theater to see Simply Simone, a play about Nina Simone. The cast was just, ahem, four women playing her at various ages, but they were all onstage acting together and sometimes would take on the roles of other people for a few lines here and there. I enjoyed it. Thought it was a good production. The set design was very nice. I'd made Mary Beth want to try Ching's after I went a few weeks ago so we went yesterday and picked up a bunch of wings and took 'em home and ate 'em and she wasn't even disappointed by them! While we were in line a former student of mine was right behind us. At first I wasn't sure as I believe former student would be an adult out of high school now and maybe it's just someone that looks similar. I couldn't place the name anyway. When she got to the counter and said her first name, her last name came to my head too so I knew it was her. I was gonna say something minor like nice to see you, but it was very packed and she had left before I had the chance. Oh well, pretty sure she disliked me anyway. More random things. As I was jogging this morning there was a recently dead squirrel in the road on the first street I run on. After making my way down and coming back to it a second time, there was another squirrel that kept going up to it, I'm guessing at least to see what was going on. I didn't get too good a look 'cuz it would go away as I got nearer. I wonder what sorts of friendships or relationships squirrels have.
