ateolf: (me and Leala)
We got the new frame under the bed. A bit of an undertaking with cats trying to get on everything on every permutation of the bedding's state. The worst fucking part was the frame. I mean, it was assembled, but it has these arms that lock in place once you unfold it. One of the arms just wouldn't fucking reach. I don't know if it was a summation of tiny little bends all along the way, but it took a good bit of disassembly mixed with hammering to get it to work. Then we get it on and Mary Beth looks in this other box and, oh, there's a bed skirt so we have to take the mattress off again to put it underneath. Well, we have the mattress on its side and the frame too (I think there was a foot that I thought that went to it but didn't) anyway. Trudy jumps on the side of the mattress while we're trying to hold up the frame and the mattress starts falling over on us. Fun times. Then we get the skirt over the frame and all was worth it, because Trudy decided to jump on this thin sheet draped over a wide crossing of metal bars and naturally started falling in these holes as she ran across. She was freaked out so she ran all over the place before getting off. And while we're still cracking up over this, Horace comes in and does the same thing (though he got off much quicker). I know words don't do this scene justice, but it was pretty great to watch (entertainment from the cats' misery? how terrible of us...). Did some more erranding. I got some new pants. Sucks, I no longer fit into a new pair of size 36. I only fit into my current pants 'cuz I've been stretching them out for so long. When I get free time again, project lose some fucking weight. Mary Beth and I went to see a movie at the Brooks last night. I didn't even know what it was called going into it, Mary Beth had vaguely heard it was supposed to be good and I'll probably be lacking much free time very very soon so it was to do a thing. It was called Love Is Strange. Not crazy about the title, but the movie ended up being really really good. I got really fucking sad at the end. It's apparently by a Memphis native. Though it takes place in New York. It avoided tons of cliches and was real good about what was said/shown.
