The Pits

Tuesday was kind of an annoying day at work. Right towards the beginning of my shift someone knocked my water bottle over and broke it. Alright fine, I don't blame them for that, pushing around an unwiedly cart. I don't even begrudge them too much for not offering to pay for a new one. But after it was over and they said they were sorry or whatever and left there was this big puddle of water near me on the carpet. And after a few minutes of it being obvious that no one else was going to clean it up, I had to go and get some towels and clean up the mess made from someone else breaking my shit. Nothing tragic, but a bit of a mood spoiler for the day. Yesterday I filled up the rest of my mp3 player. So all 40 gigs (or as close as it can get) with the internal memory and the external card are filled up. Exciting stuff. I've also neglected my slow discogs progress on here. I'm well into the second column of my secondary shelf with only a few more rows left. I'm up to Wolf Eyes now. Okay, we ran a bunch of errands yesterday and went and visited my parents and nephews. The boys are good. I helped my dad move some exercise equipment upstairs. Oh, this "weekend" I tried this new deodorant thingie. Its aim is to avoid the aluminum in deodorant/antiperspirants that is the source of pit stains. So you put this separate antiperspirant on at night before bed every three days or so. Then you use a plain deodorant daily. Okay, well I tried it the night before last and ooh it burned the shit out of my underarm skin. It's better today but I can still feel it some when I move my arms. All day yesterday it felt like I had rope burn in my armpits. There was a sticker on the bottle saying something about using the solid version if you have sensitive skin. So I guess I'll have to try that. It also says to apply sparingly, I might have put on too much. I'll try it one more time rubbing on as little as possible and if that hurts again I guess I'll have to try the other kind. I know how thrilling it is hearing the most intimate details concerning my armpits. Horace was due for his teeth cleaning so I took him in early this morning. I felt bad 'cuz it was so easy to get him in the carrier. He wanted to go in the room it was hiding in anyway and didn't even know what was coming until I picked him up and brought him close to it. Poor, trusting boy. Dropped him off (though I had to wait forever before they let him back). I felt bad again 'cuz, even though no one else was there when we arrived, right afterwards there was a huge influx of dogs. I finally picked him up a couple hours ago and he's all drugged and woozy. They said he's lost a little more weight. Hm. The vet seemed pleased, but we're a little worried he might be losing too much and I guess we'll work on feeding him more. Mary Beth and I watched Rosemary's Baby (which she hadn't seen). The cds have been shipped and should be in our hands within a few days. That's exciting.
