Start

Yesterday was a little weird. I got a call pretty early in the morning about some job. I told 'em I'd already accepted another job, but after talking to 'em I got paranoid it was someone else from the job (on site) I hadn't talked to yet and I screwed the whole thing up. That's not what happened, it was completely unrelated, but I was a little nervous about it all until the real people finally called me about it in the afternoon. What else? In my discogs cataloging I'm up to Siouxsie and the Banshees (nearing the end of that alphabet just a little bit). I watched Beyond the Law yesterday (the last of those Norman Mailer movies, it was alright, much better than Wild 90, though Mailer himself's acting was similar in a bad way, everything else was better, and it of course lacks the documentaryish spectacle of Maidstone). Yesterday evening I went out to my parents' to borrow some money from them. Sucks to do that. But now that I have a job hopefully shit can get back on track. We don't have to face eviction or nothin' like that so yay. So speaking of job, I started that today. I'm working a normal shift during training. There was a little bit of standard training kind of stuff, but mostly it was getting us to help with the work that's super backed up. So we had the simple and mind-numbing task of going through these stacks of mail correspondance to look for stray checks. I guess there was a big screw-up a couple weeks ago and a few checks were missing and they have to go back through all the boxes and look for them. So we got thrown in pretty quickly doing that. Towards the end I got to help move some of the completed boxes back into the storeroom and that was more enjoyable. It also seems I'm now working with the mother of one of my former students. That's kinda crazy. I didn't get to talk to her too much, just in passing. After I came home I went and got my oil changed which was a bit overdue. And...
