Yesterday Mary Beth and I went on a little adventure to the original Gus's out in Mason, TN. It's out in the country out of the city, but just a little bit. About a 40 minute drive (though would be a bit quicker whenever all that construction mess where Sam Cooper hits 40 and 240 gets finished). It was really good. Mary Beth thought it was even a little better than the downtown location in terms of texture. I thought they were equal (which is a little better than the east Memphis location). The atmosphere inside is incredible. Wood paneling, shack from the past. There was barely any distinction between the kitchen and the dining area. It looked more like a home kitchen than a commercial one (though there was a small bit of commercial kitchen appliances: the deep fryer and the over next to it, but those are next to a little bathroom sink with a wooden cabinet and folding tables with quaint tablecloths in the center). Okay, so Friday night we watched Blade Runner. It was Mary Beth's first time to see it. I think I may have liked it a little bit better, but it did let me realize how shitty the dvd transfer I have is. Last night we started watching Treme. A few episodes in and it's good so far. Just got back from grocery shoppin'. That's about it for now.
