Last night I went with Jacques to see the new Jodorowky movie (and sadly, I confess, the only one of his I've seen!): The Dance of Reality. It was at the Brooks. It started off like it was gonna be pretty bad at first. It has a cheap digital look, where it doesn't look like a real movie. Jodorowsky's narration was a bit pretentious and didn't work (and I'm not someone who always thinks that's considered pretentious is necessarily bad, but this was). The scenarios right at the beginning didn't seem to work. But as the story got along it got better and better. I think they also started to overcome the visual limitations and ended up with more and more striking imagery as it went along. It definitely wasn't a great movie, but I liked what I liked. I enjoyed the pissing and the wieners too. Afterwards I met Josh at Republic and we worked a little on one of his website ideas. He was showing me how to set up a database and I got to refamiliarize myself with some php. Nothing too involved but maybe something can stem from that.
