Mama Peggie's funeral was Saturday near Little Rock. My parents came and picked us up in the morning. Mary Beth and I rode with my mom. The funeral was a small family service. It was us and my parents and my sister and nephews and Uncle Robert and two older people (a man and a woman) I didn't know who I think are related to Mama Peggie, maybe cousins? Aunt Becky and Uncle Tom showed up just after it was over, they had gotten lost on the way. Afterwards we all (the relative I know) went to eat at this place called Jack's Nick's on the way back.
Other things. Friday night I hung out with Josh for a bit. We went to this coffee shop called Avenue. Just before I left Mary Beth had discovered it was christian. But it wasn't too over the top. Josh and I had our stuff out back on the porch and it was pretty nice. I like the building. Then we drove around and decided to see what Paul was up to so we went over there to pick him up. Also, talked to Shawna and she sent me info about her job that's hiring. So I later applied to that. Paul and Josh and I went to that place just down the street from Paul that used to be The Edge and before that was that lesbian bar with the karaoke. Oh yeah, it's called FoxCee's now. A band was just getting on the little stage as we arrived and the drummer (he ended up playing an electronic kit) complimented Josh's Swans shirt. No Swans influence was apparent. They sounded like bland, improvisation-free fusion jazz that you might hear on a video game soundtrack in 1992. They also did weird covers, weird as in random and bad and it all sounded the same. They continued on as I had to go home as I had to get up early for the funeral.
Not too much else. Grocery shopping yesterday. Oh, Saturday night Mary Beth wanted to watch Under the Cherry Moon so we rented it online. Just a little bit ago I finished reading The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. It was really good, but I probably liked The Member of the Wedding more.
