Went to the gym on Sunday and that was followed by band practice. Getting ready for those shows coming up now! Worked yesterday and all that. Nobody came to my tutoring after school. I had a few things waiting for me in the mail. Summer with Monika came back to me, now on dvd. I got a couple nerdy synths shirts I'd ordered: one for the Synare (with the logo and S3X on top) and one for the Polivoks (with the logo and Polivoks in Cyrillic: ПОЛИВОКС, yes I was a nerd and just looked all those characters up). Then my awesome wife loaded me with a bunch of awesome fucking presents! A couple birthday presents: Ticket to Ride (a board game we can play just the two of us!) + Panorama de Musique Concrète and Krzysztof Penderecki / Johnny Greenwood: Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima / Popcorn Superhet Receiver / Polymorphia / 48 Responses to Polymorphia cds. Then came the motherlode: an early anniversary present. She got me two dotcom modules: Normalization and Oscillator Mixer. Since they came, I had a few days to test them to make sure they worked, so that's the reason for their earliness. Anyway, so I put 'em together and they are awesome! They were actually my most assembly-intensive modules so far. They both connect to other modules in the back and I had to replace some jacks with jacks that are connected behind the panel. Normalization connects the pitch input to both oscillators as well as connects the gate to both envelope generators (saving me a lot of patchwork repetition). The Oscillator Mixer connects to four of the oscillator's wave shape outputs. Anyway, all that was pretty fun and awesome. Today was another day. EMC met after school. Collected dues today. Actually had an enormous showing, considering. Nine kids came and gave me money this morning (I mean, I got money from two kids all the year last year). Of course, showings at the meeting after school weren't as huge as last week, but still a lot of kids came. About 19. And some of the ones that turned in money weren't there, so I assume still interested but couldn't make it today. Anyway, I gave a little tutorial on rhythm and a lot of the kids there were pretty interested. One of the coaches jumped in and had a rapping battle with one of the students. It was pretty funny. Let's see. Need to get more sleep. Don't wanna keep passing out right after I get home.
