Precipice

The Family Ghost practiced yesterday. I felt it was productive yet tense. We were working on that new one both Jacques and I sing. I guess the guitar part I wrote in the quiet part has a slightly weird time thing going on and we wrestled for a while on that. Paul and Ryan had gotten their parts down in tandem then we switched tracks and Jacques and I worked on getting our parts down together. During this time Paul changed what he was doing without telling Ryan so when we all went back to it and Paul played it differently after they had done all that work, well, Ryan got pissed. Not in a serious, lasting way and we laughed about it, but tense I say. Also, Jacques doesn't like the song now. The rest of us do. I like it a lot. I got the rest of my Criterion order in the mail yesterday: Godzilla. Later at night I went over to Paul and Shawna's for a game night. Also there: Jason, Tara, Tiffany, Jacques, and Molly. I got a few birthday presents. From Jacques: Download: Charlie's Family soundtrack and Death Comet Crew: This Is Riphop. Paul and Shawna got us Slither on dvd. Never heard of it, but we're apparently in for a treat.

One More Night

Went to the gym today. Recovered a bit from my setback two times ago (especially on the press). But it did leave me pretty damn weary most of the rest of this day. Mary Beth's car was making a funny sound and shaking somewhat. Thought it might be a flat tire but the tires looked okay; thought it might be something stuck under the car but we couldn't see a thing. After we dropped it off overnight, Mary Beth saw a giant nail or screw or something in one of the tires (now rotated in a different position from where it'd been before). At least that's not something major. Waking up earlier tomorrow morning will not be fun (and I've still got earlier to wake up NEXT week when the dern school starts).
