it's been a while since i've posted...what has been going on? quite a bit of the band getting together to work on the wedding music...a bit of school work...school's pretty lame...i know this isn't news...these graduate school classes though make me feel a litle like i'm in elementary school though...of course i'll say that and i'll start bombing my assignments...monday was labor day...i was excited that i got to work the holiday...i didn't realize until the day before that they only gave me six hours instead of a full shift...so that annoyed me a bit...whatever, i guess i barely got to work this holiday...on that day i finished reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston...and i went in to work early so i got off real early but ended up being sick and was passed out a bit of the day...i've kinda been sick off and on since then...not terrible and not as bad as i was monday, but anyway...oh, food...saturday Mary Beth and i met my parents and i got to try that japanese buffet (Eat Well) out around wolfchase...a ton of stuff that was mostly pretty good...it was my first time to try it...yesterday we went to Ellen's Soul Food, which is tiny and doesn't look much like a restaurant at all...but the food was spectacular...i had turkey necks...never had turkey necks before...tasty...lots of bones...and they had these cornbread pancake things that i guess are like tortilla chips at a mexican place (in their everyone just gets 'em function) and those were about the best thing ever...and last night we played Settlers of Catan with Ryan...we tried out our next scenario in the Traders and Barbarians expansion...only one more to go! oh, and official stuff...my passport showed up on saturday (at least, fedex left it in the front foyer where we never go and it was by chance that i found it...) very fast...we went and got our marriage license yesterday...it's such a relief to have a weekend...it felt like i was working forever...i worked two five day stretches with only last sunday off until yesterday...hooray for combined days off! and for now i can't think of other stuff so i guess that's it...two weeks today...
