did a bunch of stuff yesterday...got my car inspected, Mary Beth tagged along then we drove out to target where i got my prescription for my glasses ordered and picked out the frames and all that fun stuff...it's weird, 'cuz never in a million years would i have opted for vision insurance 'cuz my vision's always been perfect (my greatest pride, sadly enough) but with the company changeover they only had one option for insurance which was more comprehensive and a little more costly, but also vision was automatically included and you had to get it if you got medical insurance...which even maybe slightly annoyed me when i first heard it 'cuz ooh i don't need vision...but then RIGHT when the changeover took place is right exactly when my eyes really started messing up...and then my insurance was pretty sweet, it paid for up to $130 for frames (which just happened to be how much the ones i picked out were) and i just had a $40 copay for the lenses and then i got some anti-glare coating as one of the main reasons i got the glasses is for being at work on the computer and that was $45...so i guess that's not too bad...and crazy timing too...anyhoo, after that we drove way to the opposite end of the city and met Scott at The Arcade for some sweet potato pancakes! (which were awesome by the way...) then after that the three of us killed time by walking around the whole of downtown...the biggest adventure was when we reached the top i had to pee and there was some convention of business suited hispanics up at the cook convention center or whatever it's called now (we had been seeing groups of them all over main street) and i guess it was letting out or whatever so i walked in hoping no one would be like what the hell are you doing here get out as i obviously had no place there until i found the bathroom...mission accomplished! maybe that part of the building is public anyway, i don't know, i was the only one in there not dressed up and not speaking spanish so it would have been pretty easy to single me out as not belonging there...i just walked around and acted like i knew where i was going...maybe it didn't matter...okay, that was an overly-involved anecdote for how boring it was...sorry about that...then it was almost time for Sherri's birthday party...we (Mary Beth and i) went up to Caspian which is always a swell place to eat...in attendance were Sherri and Brad and Jacques and Amber and then a bunch of Sherri's friends i don't know...after that was bowling...i started off with my most awesome game ever! two strikes in a row! right at the start! i don't even think i've ever gotten two strikes in a row before...but then i "dropped the ball" (not literally, see, there's quotation marks) and started sucking...but at the very end i redeemed myself a little bit...all in all it was a not-bad-for-me game...not even my best, which is pathetic after my strongest start ever...it's just i knock pins down better with a heavier ball but my hand quickly gets killed...oh well...
