ateolf: (synth & boobs)
yesterday was pretty radical...i went to Turtle's and ended up finding the Space Is the Place dvd...a bit later i met up with Jason and Amanda...then a bit later we got Brad and headed over to lame Peabody Place to go to Tower...we also experienced the joy of how pathetically lame Hot Topic is...i mean, even the stuff they carry that SHOULD be cool like stuff related to NES and good tv shows (Simpsons, Family Guy, Adult Swim fare...) manages to be lame...focusing on whatever "bad-ass" angle they can impose...but anyway...i got a couple things from Tower:
John Coltrane: Infinity
Yo La Tengo: Today Is the Day!
Unsane: Lambhouse
the Coltrane is some japanese import...though it is on Impulse!, which helped solidify my decision to get it...it's accompanied with a string orchestra arranged by Alice Coltrane...the performances are from '65 and '66, during his peak years...and it has a great lineup too...Charlie Haden playes on 3 of the songs...and 2 of the songs are different versions of ones i already have on his fine albums...i was a little unsure of it before i got it, but i'm listening to it now as you can see and it fucking rules...the best thing about the Unsane cd is the free dvd that comes with it...with their 4 videos and a good deal of live footage...the cd itself is just a comp with only album stuff...it had been on sale but it seems like it had just gone off sale...it was still on a shelf that said $9.99...but at the register it rang up as $17.99...i mentioned it to the guy and he changed the price for me! so that was bodacious!!! after that we went back here and watched Space Is the Place...which i must say is one of the best movies ever...well, i think i'm done will all this thrilling nerd-talk...oh, no i'm not! when i came back home the first time i had some mail wiaing for me!!! my new Public Image Ltd. shirt...it's like the cover of the Death Disco single and gives me like a billion boners...

i went over to my parents' house to do laundry this afternoon...there were a couple packages waiting for me...this cheap 4 channel mixer i had ordered to run the synths through...and The Slits: Cut cd...i had gotten this cd for Amanda for christmas and after i had gotten hers i realized it was a reissue with bonus tracks...and the copy i had did not have bonus tracks...so i searched for that version for me so now i have the version with bonus tracks...yeah...just got back home and watched The Simpsons...and i obviously don't have very much to say...
