gonna update piece by pice...starting w/ wednesday...i got to bed late (as is obvious by the time of my last post) and woke up late for school, but i made it...not on time but i was there...after class i swung by Lastchance...it had started to rain really hard...i checked to see if the cd i ordered had arrived...it had! yay...so i got it (The Electric Eels: The Eyeball of Hell) also, sitting on the counter was the new Hood cd (Cold House) so i bought that too...work sucked that night...it was fucking pouring at first...REALLY bad...there was a good bit of flooding...and my tips were fucking shitty..."thanks for driving out here in the middle of this flash flood warning w/ the floods to match w/ my fucking sandwhich! why don't you keep a dollar for yourself!" fuckers...afterwards i met Brad at his house and we went to Neil's for karaoke...it wasn't too crowded due to the severe weather, i'm assuming (everyone stayed at home to order food they don't have to tip for) i was able to do 3 whole songs...i first did "I Will Always Love You"...great 'cuz it's the ultimate passionate-getting-into-it song...so i got to sing REALLY loud REALLY off-key...a lot of ppl actually seemed to have gotten into it...then, at Keith's request, i did "Roxanne"...it was pretty rad...i was all up in the octaves...finally, towards the end, i did "Free Bird"...i mouthed along w/ the guitar solo at the end too...dualing chops, yo...then it ended...and the series continues into my next post...

so i got home from karaoke to find two large boxes waiting for me in the garage...i brought 'em upstairs, opened 'em up, and hooked everything in its proper place...and as the title suggests, nothing happened...there are further developments that i shall discuss in my next post as that is where they are most applicable...

i forgot to mention this in the last one, but i'll mention it hura...my car is getting to be all sorts of fucked-up...for one, as it has been for a long time, it's leaking on the driver's side and w/ the massive amounts of rain, the floor there is all soaked (still is)...the roof, where the front overhead lights are also leaks, though not so badly...and w/ the flooding there was water dripping out of the light fixture...and at one point while i was delivering, the button on the handle for my emergency brake broke off...so now i can't use my emergency brake...blah...

we actually/finally had practice again on thursday...i'd say it wasn't bad this time...it wasn't very long but we weren't too off...we worked around playing the songs w/ our fucked-up gear...just did "A Better Way of Failing" and "Homage" and started to do "Slow Autumn" before Brad had to go to work...and after Brad left Jacques wanted to work on this Galaxy 500 song that he had just learned how to play...Keith and i had never heard it so we just kind've made something up that went along w/ it...Jacques playing guitar, me on bass, and Keith on drums...the bass part that i made up w/ it was so cool that we stopped and started writing a song to go along around it...it rules too! Jacques went to work and Keith and i came up w/ a synth part for Brad to play on the Korg...i'll also mention here that since i haven't written my paper for models of comp yet, i decided to skip "class" (yesterday's crop of presentations) i guess i'll turn it in the day of my presentation...if i'll ever have anything ready...so before my other class, Keith and i went to the Mars music to look at amps...there are two there that, if nothing else comes up, i'm deciding between...a Fender stack...the Stage 100, i THINK...the head and cabinet together are a little over $800...and the Fender Twin Reverb...it's a little over a thousand...pros for the stack: it obviously can get louder, it'd be easier for feedback...i has good ol' gain nobs which makes for easier noise rock action, it's close to $200 cheaper...pros for the Twin Reverb combo: it just sounds fucking GREAT...the other sounds good but this just has the nicest sound, being smaller means it's easier to transport and it should definately be more than loud enough anyway...also even though it doesn't have separete built-in gain knobs, it'll get tube distiortion when it's turned up...and i'll have my Big Muff (if i can get it working again) anyway...and i know i shouldn't let a mere $200 get in the way of such an important investment as an amp...you don't get new amps very often so whatever i choose will have to be a good one...for posterity, yo...i'm gonna look around some more so we'll see...

i'll also mention that on the way there we ate Wendy's and it was even more garbagey than usual for some reason...it was super garbagey...but after amp lookin'-at i went to class...i've come to the conclusion that my real analysis professor should marry me...after class i went to Brad's to kick it w/ Brad and Keith...we went to Turtle's...i got the Mulholland Drive soundtrack...among other things Brad got Blue Velvet on dvd...we returned to Brad's and watched it...god i love that movie...David Lynch gives me a lipstick...then we spent the rest of the way-too-late time awake looking through band names (and then to album titles) replacing key words w/ the word "turd"...i think the best was My Bloody Turd...yes, we're sad...but at 4 in the morning, it's damned hilarious stuff, ya'll...a true classic among games...

Jacques, David, and i finalized our decisions to go see Mission of Burma in New York, janurary 12th...so i'm goin' back to New York...WOO! AND i'm getting to see Mission of Burma! too fucking cool...i went ahead and bought the tickets today...(this "morning" or last "night" i can't remember which exactly...) we still have no idea as to how we're getting there, but first we must make sure we're going! no excuses to back out or anything...and the gracious Brian Contradiction has offered us a place to crash whilst in the area...so there's that which is also rad-o...

oh fuck! i forgot to mention the thing that i said i was going to mention in my last post...at practice yesterday, i decided to play the guitar that came w/ the ARP, so i was unplugging the special cord for the hex pickup from the guitar and the end that connects to the guitar just fell apart as i was pulling it out...so i'm currently believing that that is the culprit, and not the synth itself...hopefully i can find another and resolve this issue...or maybe get that one put back together...but i don't know how well that'll do...

there was some stuff i was gonna do today, but i only woke up in time just to make it to work...afterwards i hung out w/ Brad...we pretty much just sat around...and ummm...now here i am at home...i guess that's all i have left to say...

oi...

maybe it'll piss some ppl off, but i'm just stating my opinion as it's seems to be a big current event now...(redundant words are cool...) but i don't really care about George Harrison...i guess he's less sucky than Paul McCartney, but that's saying very little...i fucking hate The Beatles...
