dear god The Family Ghost fucking RULES!
Jun. 20th, 2001 12:23 ami actually did do some studying last night...and i even squeezed in a whole 6 hrs of sleep...(at least tonight i'll finally get a decent night of sleep...although not quite enough to make up for the last two nights...but improvement's improvement...) i guess the exam went not too bad...although i know the professor's a fucking evil bastard when it comes to grading so i'll prob'ly do a lot worse than i should've...he gives very little partial credit...bah...a fucking fraud, i say...but i guess soon i'll see how bad i'm doing in there...
also, Lizzie's been in heat...and yesterday she was bred again...it kidn've sucks 'cuz it makes me think of the last time...what happened to the puppies...which really fucking depresses me...but it'll be pretty rad having another puppy...
after class i fetched Jacques and we went over to Brad's...he wasn't there for a while...we sat around talking to Shade...then we went to the Memphis Drum Shop...i wanted to look at mics...but while there i got a $10 cowbell...a pretty small one...now i can do "No Tech!" and "We're an American Band"...it's a ruling cowbell...it's all "plink!"...when we got back Brad was there...so soon we went out to rock...
Keith was taking his kids to the zoo so we had to wait a while for him...he showed up like 6ish...but before that Jacques, Brad, and i just instantly started writing a new song...Brad: drums, Jacques: bass, me: guitar...it fucking rules...it's all Codeine-ish...when Keith showed up he came up w/ another guitar part and it fucking ruled...i can't believe how fucking well we play together...we all just fucking fit together perfectly...i feel all conceited saying this, but we're just amazing...to me anyways...not just how great we are, but how natural it comes...that's the most amazing part to me (i mean, of course we'd be great...heh...) after that, we took a little break...Keith got behind the drums and so i started went and re-remembered the bassline i played w/ him like last week at the Bored to Tears practice...Jacques got on guitar and Brad took up the Moog...we jammed on that for a long time and it was fucking great...then RIGHT after we finished Brad just started doing this REALLYREALLYREALLY cool thing on the Moog and i started playing this bass part and we all wrote this other ruling song (on the same instruments as the last one...) it was great...i think this one's definately going to be an instrumental...it all reminds me of this music in part of Final Fantasy Eleventeen or whatever last one Paul was playing...(it's actually a pretty cool tune in the game...) except like noisier and postpunkish...it fucking rules...i'm just REALLY excited about the band...i think right now we're w/in inches of being ready to play a show...we have like 5 songs down and worked out together...(and bunches more that are in the beginings but haven't been brought out to the full band yet...) and our songs are tending to be really long...which fucking rules...i mean, 3 fucking songs were written today...that's just fucking great...i couldn't've imagined the band coming along better if i tried...this definately makes up for the band's status durring the last couple years...Jacques, Brad, Keith, you guys fucking RULE!
