"Ay, there's the point!"
Sep. 20th, 2025 09:34 amIn the afternoon I made an attempt to do some flyering. I mainly wanted to hit Goner to have a flyer there before Gonerfest but because of Gonerfest one whole window was just filled with a big display for that and there was no room so I figured it'd be best to try again afterwards (and didn't really feel worthwhile to go around other places then, figured I'd all do it at once later). But I did get to go out into the extremely hot day! At night Mary Beth and I went to see a production of Hamlet at Theatre Memphis. It was good to revisit it as it'd been so long (have I even seen a full production of it? I'm not sure, did I just read it back in high school?). There was a good bit of over-acting (which is funny as I'd forgotten about the scene where Hamlet tells the players not to over-act), but it lent to a fun-ness about the whole thing. And getting to see it live is just a very enjoyable experience. I felt I got more out of it this time, but it's always been crystalized in the back of my mind as a play that I like a lot. But definitely feel like I get even more depth out of it this time around. But yeah, good time and I feel like I'm on a bit of a Hamlet-kick right now in thinking about it and such. After we got home, we went out on the back deck (actually cool at night) and talked about it and Peanut heard us and came rushing towards us to hang out a little while. At one point I squatted down to be near her and she just jumped up on my knees as if I were sitting down (but I'm squatting and completely lack core-strength and was wobbling around a bit but it was cute while I could hold up).
