Alex called me on Friday to talk about the festival for the Flyer. So that was cool, felt I had a good bit to talk about. Then after work Mary Beth and I went and ate dinner in the Park (kind of an impromptu picnic), sitting out on the greensward. Then we walked in the Old Forest and then walked around the pond a few times. The weather was quite nice. We had our final rehearsal for The Terminator live score yesterday. I got there early to set up and dropped Mary Beth off at Paradiso before I came over. A few others got there early too and stuff was set up in a pretty timely manner (best of all it wasn't pouring rain! was even lovely and mildly cool weather). We had almost everyone there (everyone except one person who couldn't make it that day, though a few people were there for parts of it so it wasn't all at once). Vinnie came for the first time (he was a late addition when Ben realized he couldn't do it after all, and Vinnie talked to me about it that same night I ran into Ben and had talked about being interested in it). He seemed to take to it pretty well. We ran the encore first, with the new structure. Then we went through the movie. Played through nonstop two full times. Feeling REALLY good about it now! This past week while practicing by myself at home I started to move from feeling nervous about it to feeling excited. The big problem for me was not having a good sense of what I was playing for a lot of it. Some ideas but a lot of what I was doing wasn't landing, but I finally started to get a better sense of my sound palette and now I'm feeling good about it. A few issues popped up here and there but we worked through 'em and figured it all out. Sounding good and I'm very excited about this Thursday! After being done I went and picked Mary Beth back up from that general area she was dropped off in. Felt bad about leaving her there so long but she was a good sport about it. Okay, what do I have to do now?
