last night was the Tristeza show, as you may have gathered...quite damned good...the opening act was The Bloodthirsty Lovers...Jason Satyrs and the guy from The Grifters' new band...unfortunately they were just fucking awful...like, trying to sound like Radiohead while maintaining an overall Matchbox 20 aesthetic...local-press-ass-kissing here they come! but Tristeza was fucking great...the second to last song there was this guy (wearing a shirt he had just bought from the merch table as well as holding a new cd) who came up right next to me and starting yelling "wooo!" every 30 seconds or so...then he started yelling out "The Album Leaf. . . The Album Leaf. . ." a few times and then yelled "The American Analog Set. . . hi, we're from San Diego California" why the fuck do you buy a band's cd and then yell at them mockingly while they're onstage!? luckily he left very quickly...then the next song, some drunk fucking asshole walks up onstage and grabs one of the guitarist's amp mics and kind've sings into it for a second...then the guitarist pushed him offstage...why the fuck are there so many cunts in this city? afterwards, we (Jacques, Brad, and i) got in touch w/ Keith and we met up at the practice space where we practiced...yea...hopefully we'll be able to do another show relatively soon...
oh yea, and at the show i bought their last album (Dream Signals in Full Circles) and the new remix album (Mixed Signals)...hoorah for cds...
