One of the things we got from my family is this Amazon Echo Show. Now, the last thing I'm going to do is hook up a device that does nothing but connect to Amazon and listen to everything I say (like, even one of those is a dealbreaker). But like with that Fire tablet, I got a few years ago and was able to root to a normal android os, I thought maybe I could do something with this one to make it usable or at least bypass connecting to Amazon. Well, I couldn't. I was reading about using one without logging in, but that was probably with an older model, don't even have the option with this one. And nothing was even working to get it to start in any kind of boot mode. I think I read that the newer ones now have their own os instead of a modified version of android. So it's just a useless paperweight. I keep feeling I should be able to do SOMETHING with it, but I feel I'm wasting my time. In the later afternoon, Mary Beth and I made a Fresh Market grocery run, braving the flooding rains (it had let up a little bit when we left, but still a good bit of rain).
