Kitchen Trouble
Sep. 20th, 2024 08:00 amIn the afternoon I finished reading Our Circus Presents... by Lucian Dan Teodorovici. It wasn't very good. The writing was very awkward and clunky and I'm not sure if that was due to the translation or what, but it didn't really balance itself out in any other way either. At least it was a very fast read. (And a failed Dalkey is still at least a worthwhile adventure.) In the evening I was working on the rest of my music for my set next week. It's going pretty well. Have just a few sounds on the modular but the tapes are doing some heavy lifting and I have some delays stacked up as well. The sounds should be pretty good. While I was working on this in this back room on the opposite side of the house, our dishwasher broke and started flooding in the kitchen. Mary Beth was also out on a walk so she got to come back to a pretty big mess. So then we had to clean all the water in the kitchen and a glass that shattered on the floor in the scramble and take the broken dishwasher out to the curb and wash the in-progress dishes. And now we'll be doing dishes by hand for over a week til the replacement dishwasher comes (this last one did last a good while, but the trouble is that when they go, they do so in a pretty messy way).
