Yesterday was pretty much my and Mary Beth's Christmas. We had a very delicious and special ham that was special ordered (none of that Holiday Ham stuff, it tasted closer to pork-pork). Mary Beth got me a gift certificate to French Broad (this chocolate place in Asheville that's pretty incredible). Also she got a chocolates of the month subscription for a few months and the first ones had already arrived and they've been extremely delicious. My family got my nephew home for Christmas so he's there now. Last night was stupid with the fucking fireworks. I mean, who the fuck does fireworks on Christmas anyway. But right at midnight, just possibly minutes after I'd drifted off into sleep, some big fireworks thing starts right up. It was so extended and varied and booming that it sounded like it had to be some professional bullshit. (New Year's Eve is in just a week! Wait one fucking week for this dumb shit! This is not a Christmas thing!) And fuck, Christmas is traditionally a wake-up-early kind of holiday, so they can fuck off with this shit. Then I got woken up again around 5 am with a whole bunch of small-sounding fireworks. So fuck all that too. Anyway, enough ranting about fucking Christmas fireworks. I keep forgetting to mention that on Friday night, I did take a covid test and it came out negative. So I guess I've just got a bit of a nasty cold. It hasn't been super bad, but my coughing the last few days has been a little annoying. Since yesterday I've been horking up a good bit of gunk so that's good I guess.
