So, what I was afraid would transpire about that show I've set up has transpired! Now the booking agent is saying that they will only do a show if there's a guarantee. When they first asked, I said I couldn't do that and waited for a reply but they didn't say anything and after five days I sent a follow-up about the show. Then they replied about it being a condition. I asked around a bit (talked to Eric anyway, since he was interested in the show and definitely has more experience in these matters) and he confirmed that that's just not going to happen in Memphis on a Monday. So I may come up with a plan b. I'm still going to shoot out one more follow-up email shortly, letting them know the situation, but not expecting anything but them backing out. Anyway, in good news, I had a big mail day yesterday. Got one package with a big cd box set: v/a: Avant Garde (twenty-one discs from Deutsche Grammophon's eponymous Avant Garde series with tons and tons of mid-century experimental shit!) and another package from Somewherecold Records as they had a huge sale: Transverse: Returning to the Fount of Destruction; Lisa Butel and Brent Cross: A Low Lament for Love and Loss and The Feeling of Walking: Songs of 2020; Xqui: Pieces Part 2; Concussed: Electromagnetic Dust; Transverse: Slow Move Apocalypse; Droneroom: I'll Make It Up to You, I Swear...; Droneroom: Blood on Blood; Droneroom: Jesus Year; Droneroom: Negative Libra; Winterwood: The Meditation Loops; Winterwood: Forest; City of Dawn & The Corrupting Sea: Mosaic of Senses; Akkad the Orphic Priest/The Corrupting Sea: Trilogy I; Anders Brørby/The Corrupting Sea: Trilogy I; and Yellow6/The Corrupting Sea: Trilogy I. At night Mary Beth and I did our Superlo grocery run and that's about it for now.
